With President Kennedy's famous speech of May 25, 1961 promising to put a man on the moon by the end of the decade, to the tragedy of the fire on the launch pad in the command module of Apollo I - NASA's Apollo Program has been etched into the memory of every American who remembers the early years of space travel. The triumphant walk on the moon by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin is considered by many to be mankind's greatest technological achievement. This very early photo was taken and signed when Mr. Aldrin was part of the Gemini XII space program.
