This note, printed by Timothy Green features
delicately detailed cuts and set type on both the face
and the back. The center shows the Connecticut coat-of
arms and reads:
"The POSSESSOR of this BILL, shall be paid by the
treasurer of CONNECTICUT, ONE SHILLING Lawful Money, by
the First Day of January, A.D. One thousand seven hundred
& eighty one. By Order of Assembly, Hartford, June 7,
1776" It is signed in ink by Benjamin Payne.
